Services

Planners Nest offers planning literacy, participation, and engagement services designed to bridge the gap between planning professionals and the communities they serve.

Our work supports institutions, organizations, and planning actors who want to strengthen public understanding, encourage meaningful participation, and promote transparent, informed decision making around land and development.

Our services focus on translating professional planning systems into clear, practical, and people centered tools that communities can understand and use.

What We Do

Our services are structured around four core areas. Each service is designed to support planning literacy, participation, and transparency while remaining adaptable to different institutional and community contexts.

Planning Literacy and Education

We design clear, accessible learning materials that simplify planning laws, processes, and concepts so communities can understand how planning decisions affect their lives.

Public Participation and Engagement

We support the design of inclusive public participation processes that help communities understand issues, engage meaningfully, and contribute to shaping planning outcomes.

Land and Development Due Diligence Support

We develop education focused tools and guidance that help people understand land ownership, planning approvals, and development requirements.

Research and Planning Insights

We carry out locally grounded research and analysis to inform planning education, participation strategies, and evidence informed decision making.

Capacity Building and Training

We design and deliver learning sessions that strengthen planning literacy and build confidence among communities and early career professionals.

Mentorship

We create spaces for mentorship that support learning, reflection, and growth among students, early career planners, and emerging practitioners.

How Our Services Work

Planners Nest works through a values driven collaboration model. Institutions engage us to design planning education materials, participation systems, or engagement strategies aligned with their goals and public responsibilities. Revenue from this work supports our operations and enables the production of free planning education, content, and engagement opportunities for communities.

Communities do not pay to access planning knowledge or to participate. Planning literacy and participation are treated as public goods, supported through institutional collaboration and partnership.
